Resumen:
Pseudoptilolepis Snyder, 1949, with the species P. confusa Snyder, 1949, is recorded for the first time in Argentina, extending the Neotropical distribution. The specimens were collected in Corrientes province, flying around a stinkhorn fungus fruiting body (Phallaceae). A modification to the key of Muscidae for Argentina is proposed.
