Detectable Zn, Cu, Pb, Cd and Ni concentrations were noticeable for the four survey localities, nevertheless Cr was only found in Necochea. Cd concentrations were significantly different between maturity stages and positive correlated with age; total length and body weight. A positive correlation between Ni-Cd and a negative between Cu-Ni concentrations were registered. Regional differences in Zn, Ni, Pb and Cu concentration between Necochea and Claromecó were observed. Heavy metals baseline concentration values for the southernmost population of this species are informed. Theses outcomes allowed suggesting that franciscana dolphins accumulate heavy metals in their liver beside a good body condition for all animals was confirmed.
