Resumen:
ABSTRACT: A brief historical outline of the first specimens of the herbarium and the main contributions of grasses by botanists and travellers to the Herbarium of La Plata Museum (LP), has been given in the introduction to the present paper. A list of the Nomenclatural Types of the Poaceae family, belonging to the herbarium (LP) has been made. A total of 355 types have been accepted, after analyzing the data of the specimens and a review of the original diagnoses or descriptions of the taxa included in the list. A total of 6 neotypi and 4 lectotypi, each ones marked with an asterisk, have been designated by Torres and Arriaga in the present paper. The types have been ordered alphabetically. The bibliographical data of the taxa, as well as those identifying the specimens, have been added, in each name of the taxa mentioned in this catalogue. Some papers, have not been cited in the text , have been included in the bibliography. The present paper has been dedicated to the memory of Dr. Carlos Spegazzini for his important contributions to the knowledge of the South American grasses.A brief historical outline of the first specimens of the herbarium and the main contributions of grasses by botanists and travellers to the Herbarium of La Plata Museum (LP), has been given in the introduction to the present paper.
