ABSTRACT A thorough revision of the specimens housed at the Marine Mammals sientific collection of the Museo Argentino de Ciencias Naturales "Bernardino Rivadavia" (MACN– Ma) indicated that of the total number of specimens catalogued (n=384), 66% belongs to Cetacea while the remainder (44%) pertains to the Pinnipedia group. Among Cetacea, Delphinidae is the best represented family whereas Pontoporia Gray, 1846 (Pontoporidae) is the genera which comprises the major number of specimens. Furthermore, we report 3 type specimens which were not cited in a previous work (VACCARO & PIANTANIDA, 1998). As regards to Pinnipedia, the best represented family corresponds to Otariidae, being Otaria Péron, 1816 (Otariidae) the genera with the highest number of specimens. La misma indicó que del total de ejemplares catalogados (n=384), el 66% corresponde a Cetacea mientras que el 44% restante corresponde a Pinnipedia.
