Resumen:
Presentacion oral seleccionada por concurso.Grid cells in the mammalian Entorhinal Cortex provide ametric for space, and it has been proposed that they areat the core of a mechanism for orientation based on self motioncues. Such a mechanism would also need a robustspeed signal. Here we present speed cells, a population ofentorhinal neurons dedicated to code for running speed ina linear, context-invariant and prospective way.
