Resumen:
Most of the biochemical processes that are essential for life are conducted byinteracting proteins. The thioredoxin system, which is composed of NADPH,thioredoxin reductase (TR), and thioredoxin (TRX), is an ubiquitous antioxidantsystem in defense against oxidative stress through, DNA repair, signaling andredox balance [1]. Indeed, TRX system provides the reduction power tothiol-dependent peroxidases to remove reactive oxygen species with a fastreaction rate, near to the diffusion control. Comes to sight the need for aminoacids that guarantee the activity itself as well as the ability to interact with otherproteins. In this scenario, we hypothesize the existence of an evolutionarypreserved interaction network in the TRX system involved in protein-proteincontacts and substrate recognition plus internal dynamic and thermodynamicstability. In this first work, we approaches to some of this issues employingmutual information (MI) and molecular dynamics (MD) simulations.
