Resumen:
BLS is a highly immunogenic decameric protein. It is possible to insert foreign proteins at its 10 N-termini and these chimeras are very efficient to elicit systemic and oral immunity without adjuvants. BLS induces the cross presentation of OVA257-264 and also the activation of CTLs and a specific cytotoxic response via TLR4. In this work we study the effect induced by BLS in TLR4-expressing B16 melanoma. C57BL/6J mice were immunized with 50, 100 or 200 μg of BLS or BLS-OVA and 35 days later were sc inoculated with 2.5x105 OVA-expressing B16 melanoma (B16-OVA). Tumor development was monitored by measuring tumor perpendicular diameters with a caliper (vol= d2×D×0.5). All doses of BLS and BLS-OVA induced a significant inhibition of tumor growth (n=10, p
