Resumen:
In this work we present two types of gel-like hybrid materials based ona chitin network reinforced with increasing amounts of graphene oxide andreduced graphene oxide nanosheets (nGO and rGO, respectively) acting asnanofillers in both cases. The nanostructure of the composites wascharacterized using different spectroscopic techniques and the degree ofreinforcement was approached by a rheological analysis. The aim of the researchis the elucidation of the mechanism of interaction between the chitin and thenanofiller. Understanding the mechanism of this interaction would mean a key step towards tailoredsynthesis of materials with desirable chemical and mechanical properties.
