Resumen:
In many regions of the world, diseases, such as malaria, yellow fever, leishmaniasis or dengue are transmitted by insects [1]. Repellents provide effective and safe protection against insect bites and consequently have a very important part to play in consumer health care markets [2]. In this work, the preparation and characterization of nanofibrous matrices containing insect-repellent agents is studied as functional textile coatings. The results were obtained in the framework of FONARSEC FSNano2010-02 Project "Nanotechnology for functional textiles". The effect of repellent incorporation method on the morphology of monolithic and coaxial nanofibers and the release profile is presented.
