Resumen:
Highly reactive SnO2-doped powders with specific surface areas above 30m2/g andmean particle size of 20nm were obtained through the polymeric precursor method withtin oxalate (SnC2O4) as tin oxide precursor. The influence of Co and Fe on themicrostructure and electrical properties of compacted powders sintered at 1300ºC wasstudied. The morphology of sintered powders and the microstructure of highly densesamples were characterized with XRD and TEM. The electrical behavior of the sampleswas studied on the basis of current density-electric field curves. The presence of ironincreased the electrical breakdown field and enhanced the nonlinear coefficient.Furthermore, the addition of a 0,2% mol of Fe to the basic system 98,95%SnO2+1,0%CoO+0,05%Nb2O5 reduced the sintering temperature of the material asobserved by dilatometry.
