Resumen:
The highly unsaturated vegetable oil (TO) was cationically copolymerized or modified with two vegetable oil derived monomers, that replace the more frequently used styrene. The incorporation of these monomers/modifiers, one based on the same TO and the other a commercial monomer, allowed preparing materials with an elevated content of bio-derived components. Furthermore, the addition of magnetite nanoparticles (MNPs) synthesized by the method of alkaline coprecipitation, followed by coating with oleic acid allows to obtain superparamagnetic properties in the nanocomposites. The analysis of their thermal, dynamic mechanical, mechanical and magnetic behavior showed significant changes related to the incorporation of magnetite nanoparticles and properties comparable to those of the materials obtained by copolymerization with styrene.
