In this work, polymer-dispersed liquid crystals based in N-octyl-N´-cyanobiphenyl liquid crystal and a commercial prepolymer (NOA65) produced by polymerization-induced phase separation are studied. Photo-polymerization kinetics, phase separation and the morphologies generated are analyzed as a function of the liquid crystal content. Phase separation is observed in mixtures with liquid crystal content higher than 40%; in every case isotropic-isotropic phase separation precedes isotropic-nematic transition.
