Resumen:
Magnetic gels were prepared using magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) dispersed in Poly (vinyl alcohol) (PVA) gels. MNPs were obtained by ?in-situ? co-precipitation of iron oxides in a PVA aqueous solution and the cross-linking was carried out by freezing-thawing (F-T) the solution. The prepared material was characterized by means of electronic microscopy (SEM), X-Ray diffraction, thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and magnetic properties. The performance of these gels as drug delivery was evaluated. Batch adsorption experiments were carried out using B12 Vitamin as model. The adsorption behaviour was found and analyzed. Hence, biomaterials potentially useful in drug delivery fields may be prepared by a relatively simple, non-toxic and low cost method.
