Resumen:
A series of segmented poly(ester urethane urea)s (SPUU) based on poly(e-caprolactone) (PCL) as soft segment, aliphatic diisocyanates and novel diurea diol based on 2-aminoethanol in the hard segment are synthesized as biodegradable materials for soft tissue engineering applications. The urea linkages are incorporated in the chain extender to strengthen hard segment interactions as well as to introduce hydrolyzable groups into the hard segment. The soft segment and chain extenders are fully characterized. Both the chain extender type and hard segment content is varied, and its effect on the physical appearance and thermal properties is evaluated.
