Resumen:
In this work, we encapsulate a chromophore within poly(styrene-b-4-vinylpyridine) (PS-b-P4VP) micelles by means of non-covalent interactions. The pyridine group of the P4VP block could H-bond with phenol functionalized chromophores. So, Disperse Orange 13 (DO13) was selected to form a supramolecule PS-b-P4VP(DO13). We investigated the effect of adding different amounts of DO13 to the copolymer on the final micellar morphology. Both, sphere and cylinder micelles are developed. When these micelles are dispersed in a PS homopolymer matrix, high-quality flat films are obtained. The presence of the PS homopolymer matrix reduces the amount of cylindrical micelles. The effect of the confinement of DO13 in different micelle structures on optical properties is currently under study.
