Resumen:
The non-destructive evaluation of multilayer
systems by means of ultrasonic transmission
is the matter of this article. We approach the determination
of the material properties solving an inverse
problem, for a composed material made out of
thin layers.
For the direct problem, the propagation of a
plane wave inside the material as well as the transducers
are modeled using equivalent electric circuits,
thus reducing the computational time for numerical
calculations. The identification of the parameters
involved in the model, characteristic acoustic impedances
and transit times, related to the layers densities
and propagation velocities, may be formulated as
a non linear parameter estimation problem. The minimization
of a least squares objective function was
successfully performed and the estimated parameters
gave useful information for the mechanical characterization
of the sample.
